The final concert in our National Tour Season is a big, exuberant celebration. The ACO will more than triple in size to perform masterpieces by two of the Romantic era’s most beloved composers: contemporaries and close friends Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvořák.

Artistic Director Richard Tognetti and Principal Cello Timo-Veikko Valve will take centre stage in Brahms’ vast and brilliant Double Concerto, their first performance of the work in eleven years. Tognetti will then lead the Orchestra through one of the most glorious symphonies of the nineteenth century, Dvořák’s Symphony No.8. Opening the concert is the World Premiere of Australian composer Andrew Ford’s Fanfare for Neverland Solo Trumpet, which paves the way for the Australian premiere of Gran Turismo, a flamboyant, high-octane work to be performed by eight virtuoso violinists of the ACO.
