The ACO opens its landmark 2020 Season in epic symphonic form, as it celebrates the 250-year anniversary of the birth of the great Ludwig van Beethoven.
Richard Tognetti will lead an expanded ACO, featuring added forces from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), through the beloved composer’s first three symphonies. The effervescent Symphony No.1 and spirited Symphony No.2 open the program, paving the way for the composer’s third, and arguably most electrifying, symphonic achievement: the magnificent ‘Eroica’. This beloved juggernaut rises beyond its initial dedication to Napoleon Bonaparte to encompass heroism, disillusion and grandeur.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear the ACO perform three full symphonies from the world’s most influential and monumental composer.
